Luna name refers to the moon
Twilight name refers to the time of day where its a perfect mix of the day and sunny sky and the moon and the night sky.
So that would most likely mean Sunset's name refers to the dawn phase of the day which is usually considered during a sunrise or sunset, and the one during sunset is close to the time of twilight. So Sunset Shimmer could represent that. (People are already saying she'll be Twilight's student if that one comic didn't give an idea.)
Kingdom Hearts has a similar reference with 4 paths considered for using the light and darkness: Light, Darkness, Dawn, and Twilight.
I mean if you think about it, how willing would the animators answer a question about a future event it the show? Probably not at all because even the slightest info could give away many spoilers of what's yet to come. For example: say its like a janga tower, the bricks are like spoilers, pull out the wrong 'spoiler' and they could give away too much. (Basically all the janga blocks that fell were one spoiler.)
When it comes to the world of animation, sometimes saying nothing is better than saying anything at all. If the animators say no to something, I feel I should expect it cause they may have said no so people might not realize it was actually yes as one tweet I remember seeing said Twilight wouldn't be an Alicorn: Guess what happened 2 weeks ago from today?
